Today, more than half of the world’s population lives in an urban environment. With exponential urbanization and demographic growth, it is expected that 70% of humanity will live in cities over the next 30 years. In the framework of the implementation of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, UNESCO has launched the Culture for Sustainable Urban Development Initiative, to raise awareness on the contribution of culture to sustainable development.

The International Conference will be organized in plenary sessions and parallel thematic working groups. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided in English, French and Chinese.
